Annual Aerial Device Inspection

5-Year Aerial Device Inspection
NFPA 1910 Ch.23
Includes all components of the annual test, plus Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) as required by NFPA 1910.
When NDT is Required:
at least every 5 years
whenever visual inspection or load test indicates a potential structural or safety concern
when additional evaluation is needed to confirm continued operational safety
Inspection Duration:
NDT typically requires 5-8 hours per unit
the 5-year test includes the 8-12 hour annual inspection plus 5-8 hours for NDT, usually on a two-day schedule
